Not many risks associated with long covid that we can can change like our sex, pre existing conditions except a few, VACCINATIONS is one, which would lower the initial illness and hospitalization (which further increases LC risk), others are REST, ANTIVIRAL, AVOID REINFECTIONS

THREAD: I Took A Man To Court For Racial Abuse aka DIY Justice. I've barely told a few people about this. Last year, I was walking down the street on a Saturday afternoon, pushing my two young daughters in a pram...

The US is coming up to a million Covid cases a day at the moment, & some places are denying people the opportunity to protect themselves from a pathogen that is studied & understood to harm humans in many ways. This is so disgusting, so anti-science, so FASCIST...

A really nice paper from a collaboration with our colleagues at University of Montana just came out. We showed that with the right adjuvant, SARS-CoV-2 vaccines can protect against antigenically diverse variants. Jordan Clark nature.com/articles/s4429…

I'm not cut out for politics (too many pictures of my boobs out there with men who truly don't deserve them ;) so I do what I can by sharing Covid info online. Between May 2020 and end of 2022, I felt crazy a lot. Constantly worrying if I was making the right decision about our

1/13 Un point qu'il va falloir prendre en considération avant le déploiement de ces vaccins nasaux, si on veut en tirer l'effet optimal sur l'arrêt de circulation virale : l'acceptation dans la population ! C'est là que ça va devenir compliqué...

1. This is an excellent question. To understand how Covid-19 has become a taboo subject, there are a number of factors that must be considered. First, the dynamic that exists between governments, public health, the media, and healthcare professionals.

I mean, I *did* say they should just make mpox vaccinations part of the routine vaccination schedule so we'd be prepared in case something breaks out....but nooooo

Adithya Ramachandran (@adithyar_yxe) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Vaccination does reduce the risk of LC, particularly if it's a recent & updated vaccine. If the word "prevent" is used or interpreted to mean a guarantee, as is often the case in casual contexts, then it leads to misunderstandings like this. I vaccinate frequently & wear an N95.

The handwashing thing bugs me every time. Does NOTHING for covid. Handwashing is wonderful and important but in context of covid: completely irrelevant. It's like a superstition that has its basis in good sense but totally misapplied. Health professionals are the worse offenders.

It’s unsettling to see COVID-informed ppl calling for more legal action against individuals who pass COVID. I get why some might feel it is a win but it is not an effective public health measure. We have been here before with HIV criminalization. It only makes things worse.
