Despite the headlines about GDP growth this morning - I’m not sure it’s a great measure of the wellbeing and happiness of the UK population.

GDP was only invented in my parents lifetime - (surprisingly recent invention) so anyone got an idea of what a better measure would be?

Despite this morning’s figures showing UK out of recession - many people still feel poorer. In part that might be because population growing faster than GDP.

So GDP per head might be a better indication than the usually quoted plain GDP figure.
