Townhall on the housing crisis last night hosted by Sarah Jama with Councillors from Wards 2, 3, 4 and 13.

Rent control, the elimination of Above Guideline Rent Increases, landlord registry and landlord licensing, investments into non market, public housing, support for municipalities and real funding (not just repeated, recycled housing announcements) are all places to start. 2/

Tonight Councillors Nann, Kroetsch, Wilson, Hwang and I got together with community in Simone Hall to break down the housing crisis, how each level of government has responded to the crisis, and what needs to change. We also heard from Christine of the Downtown ACORN chapter. 1/
