No surprise to the see the outpouring of messages following Colin Giltrap’s passing. He was such a supporter of NZ motorsport, ran a proper franchise in A1GP & we shared many a good battle with our teams on track backed by great banter off it. Condolences to his friends & family.

Team Germany take the opening practice honours in Zhuhai with Michael Ammermuller topping the times.

Sérgio Jimenez was second for Team Brazil with debutant Danny Watts third for Team GBR, all within one tenth of a second.

A1GP - The World Cup of Motorsport Dubai Autodrome neel jani Nicolas Lapierre Tomas Enge Robbie Kerr Stephen Simpson The use of that helicopter was revolutionary (pun intended) controlled by the Swiss mountain rescue team members around the track. Brought in by Sheik Maktoum’s and despite everyone being sceptical it worked really well. Banned by the FIA before the race finished I believe.

Round 6 of season one came from Dubai Autodrome, neel jani took his first series win with Nicolas Lapierre winning the feature.

Enrico Toccacello, Tomas Enge, Robbie Kerr & Stephen Simpson all featured on the podium as helicopter recovery debuted.

The championship made its second visit to Sentul Circuit where Team New Zealand opened their A1GP tally winning both races with Jonny Reid.

Salvador Duran & Robbie Kerr completed the sprint podium, Nico Hülkenberg & Nicolas Lapierre in the feature.
