The “weird racism” this person refers to in old movies is just the signifier of us being a real country. India wasn’t a real place to the average American back then. There weren’t many Indian immigrants. India was a far away land of adventure, mystique, and possibly even magic.

This is also why I say it’s worthwhile for our guys to get into music. Many here have excellent taste, and it would prevent the whole industry & subculture from becoming, at large, some frumpy chick karaoke-singing Linkin Park.
